Although year-end figures have not been tallied,
the Dominican Republic appears to have set a record again for visitors in 2014.
Through November, the destination welcomed 4.6
million visitors, up 7.7% over the same period in 2013, according to Tourism
Minister Francisco Javier Garcia.
Javier said the country broke records for visitors in almost every
month in 2014.
Javier forecasted a growth rate of 10% this year,
and said the country is on track to reach 10 million visitors in 2022, a goal set by President Danilo Medina when he took
office in 2012.
