Dive enthusiasts seeking certification as a Professional Association of Dive Instructor (PADI) Open Water Scuba Instructor have a new option on St. Lucia.
Anse Chastanet resort and its in-house dive shop Scuba St. Lucia are offering an instructor training program from Aug. 25 to Sept. 4 for qualified participants.
Prerequisites include certification as a PADI divemaster; medical statement of physical fitness from a diving medical exam within the last 12 months; Open Water Diver Certification for at least six months; a record of 60 logged dives before the start of the course and 100 logged dives prior to the final exam; and CPR and first-aid training within the past 24 months.
Special accommodation rates are available for participants.
"This is a career and recreational opportunity that not only enhances one's resume but also gives graduates skills they can convey to students at other dive shops, which will attract more customers for their business," said Karolin Troubetzkoy, executive director of marketing and operations at Anse Chastanet.
