Aruba hotels offer up deals for U.S. visitors in response to WHTI

Several hotels in Aruba are offering incentives for travelers in direct response to the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, which will require all U.S. citizens to carry a passport to enter or re-enter the U.S. from the anywhere in the Western Hemisphere, effective Jan. 23.

"Aruba recognizes the significant potential effects of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative that can and will impact hundreds of thousands of travelers next year," said Myrna Jansen, managing director of the Aruba Tourism Authority.

"Aruba saw the need to get its hotel and resort partners to create programs to entice travelers to get the proper travel documents, and to demonstrate our appreciation for making Aruba their first vacation destination with their new passport."

Incentives for travelers who have Aruba as their first stamp in their new passports include:

  • Westin Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino: $50 food and beverage credit per person, per stay; valid through 2007. Visit

  • Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino: $100 food and beverage credit per room; valid through 2007. Visit

  • Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort: $25 food and beverage credit per person, per stay (minimum of five nights); valid¬†through Dec. 17. Visit

  • MVC Eagle Beach: $25 food and beverage credit per person, per stay (minimum five-night stay); valid through Dec.17. Visit
