BTA, New York Mets pitch 3-year deal

Maybe it does not have the drama of a New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox duel, but the new partnership between Barbados and Major League Baseballs New York Mets may prove a winning combination.

The Barbados Tourism Authority signed a three-year deal with the Mets to promote Barbados at all home and away games through the 2008 baseball season.

If a Mets player hits a home run at Shea Stadium during a specially designated inning, one fan at the stadium for all home games and one who is registered online at www.sny.tv/barbados for all road games will win a free trip to Barbados.

The BTA also will offer a Mets-themed weekend package in Barbados next fall to all season ticket holders.
