Although there is no specific opening date, Baha Mar resort in Nassau is lining up entertainers for a star-studded grand opening event sometime late next spring.
Baha Mar has partnered with two industry entertainers to choreograph and score the gala: Jamie King, writer and director of the Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour and director of the recently launched Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson One at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas; and Emilio Estefan, a 19-time Grammy Award-winning musician, producer and director who has produced Super Bowl halftime shows and closing ceremonies for the Winter and Summer Olympics.
"This collaboration is a great opportunity, an exciting challenge and a project that does not lack in sources of inspiration since the Bahamas is so full of natural beauty, exotic sights and a culture of joy," King said.
Baha Mar's opening will span several days and encompass much of the 1,000-acre property and 3,000 feet of beach.
