Hurricane Bertha weakened again Thursday morning to a Category 1 storm while continuing to lurk about 480 miles southeast of Bermuda.
Maximum sustained winds were clocking in around 85 mph Thursday night, down from 105 mph the night before.
However, forecasters warned that Bertha could intensify to major hurricane status again, although the storm still is expected to make a gradual turn to the north, away from Bermuda.
Large swells and high surf conditions could affect portions of Bermuda in the coming days.
