Bonaire has turned to Facebook and Twitter pages to support its dive and conservation markets.

The pages feature links to events for Bonaire’s Dive Into Summer program and its Commitment to Conservation project commemorating the 40th anniversary of Washington-Slagbaai National Park and the 30th anniversary of the Bonaire National Marine Park.

"The timing was perfect for us to become active participants in both social media networks by making it easier to connect with past and potential visitors," said Ronella Tjin Asjoe Croes, Bonaire's director of tourism.

Bonaire currently has more than 230 followers on Twitter and 300 on Facebook. Both pages will provide news of the dive and conservation programs as well as island images and hotel information.
