The impact of health and wellness tourism
on the economies, environments and communities of the Caribbean
will be examined and discussed at the 9th annual Caribbean
Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development, also known as the
Sustainable Tourism Conference (STC-9), at the Westin Casuarina
Resort & Spa on Grand Cayman from May 21 to 24.
The event, which
is being staged in the Cayman Islands for the first time, is part
of the regional awareness component of the Caribbean Tourism
Organization's Strategy for Sustainable Tourism.
"This conference
will stress the importance of developing a tourism product that
takes into account the health and wellness of surrounding
communities, environments and visitors and measures the
contribution to the economic stability of the region," said Mareba
Scott, CTO's sustainable tourism product specialist.
