Prime Minister Perry Christie of the
Bahamas will be the featured speaker at the opening ceremony of the
Caribbean Tourism Organization's annual Caribbean Tourism
Conference on Grand Bahama Island Oct. 22 to 25.
In addition, Tracey
Weber, Travelocity's COO of North America, will deliver the keynote
address on Oct. 23, and Peter Davies, CEO of BWIA, will wrap up the
conference on Oct. 25.
In between, the
roster of speakers will focus on the conference theme,
"Cooperation, Innovation, Rejuvenation: Creating a Brand New
Caribbean."
The lineup
includes: Gary Sain, chief marketing officer and a partner of
Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell marketing and advertising
agency; Gregg Anderson, regional vice president of acquisitions,
Southeast, Intrawest; Leon Corbett, marketing officer at Visit
Florida; Susanna Mander, director of brand management, Paradisus
Resorts; and Fred Laundsberry, CEO of the Paradise Island Promotion
Board.
Moderating a
MasterClass on travel distribution will be Joel Chusid, chairman of
the Association of Travel Marketing Executives; along with James
McNair, president of Sabre Canada; Douglas Kostwoski, a travel
agent and president of the CTO South Florida chapter; Michael
Hering, president of SkyAuction; and Laura Veglia, Expedia's
regional director for the Caribbean region.
Richard Kahn,
president of Kahn Travel Communications, will lead a session in
crisis communications.
In addition,
industry speaker and consultant Marc Mancini will address travel
agents on "The Secrets of Non-Manipulative Sales," while consultant
Ty Christian will cover niche markets and cultural heritage
markets.
