The Caribbean Tourism Development Co., joint marketing and promotion entity of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and the Caribbean Tourism Organization created in 2007, will officially relaunch its regional marketing website at on Feb. 28.

"The new site will be a one-stop, comprehensive site with an enhanced design and search capability that will revolutionize the research and planning process for consumers looking to vacation in the Caribbean," said Beverly Nicholson-Doty, CTO chairwoman.

Viewers going to now will find the old site, which is still active but has not been updated for some time, according to Richard Doumeng, CHTA president.

"This launch has been talked about for years. We tried it twice in the past. Both ventures had big interest spikes initially but both fell apart because they were not sustainable. This time it is really happening. This new site is a 21st-century, 24/7 online hotel and information platform that represents the efforts of the government and the private sector," Doumeng said.

The relaunched site will showcase the 600 CHTA member properties and the countries of the region, and will link to a database of CTO agents who will handle bookings, reservations and promotions for CHTA member properties.
