Cayman Islands golf course to reopen Nov. 10

The Links Golf Course at Safehaven, an 18-hole, par 71 course in Grand Cayman, will reopen Nov. 10 under the new name of North Sound Club.

The course closed to the public on Oct. 26 when ownership changed hands. The reopening date will mark the completion of the purchase arrangement for the course and the surrounding land, according to Michael Ryan, the prospective buyer's representative.

Ryan also is the developer of the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and The Residences at Ritz-Carlton.

North Sound Club, which is adjacent to the Ritz-Carlton's nine-hole Bleu Tip course, will be open to local golfers who will be offered several membership options.

The top tier of membership will allow members to play the Bleu Tip course in addition to the North Sound course.

Future plans call for the redesign of the North Sound golf course and for the possible integration of the two neighboring courses.

In the meantime, North Sound Club will renovate its clubhouse and improve its food and beverage operations, according to Ryan.
