Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, recently opened the
Central Gardens complex, a cluster of three gardens, a pool with waterslide and
splash pad, and kiosks selling ice cream and pizza.
The Central Gardens is an alternative source of recreation
at Dunn's River and marks another upgrade at the tourist attraction, said
Damian Graham, general manager of Jamaica's Urban Development Corp.
Over the years, Dunn's River Falls has added picnic and
barbecue areas, a ticket office and entry courtyard, increased parking and new
roads to access the upper reaches of the falls.
Dunn's River currently attracts more than 800,000 visitors
annually who climb the falls in a human chain led by guides.
The falls are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. On cruise
ship days, opening is at 7 a.m.
Admission is $20 for adults, $12 for children.
