Charter arranger/travel agency Cuba Travel Services will offer flights from New York to Havana.
The charter flights from Kennedy Airport, due to begin in the spring, will be operated by Sun Country Airlines on Boeing 737-800 aircraft in a two-class configuration.
Cuba Travel Services noted that the New York area is home to the second-largest Cuban population in the U.S., after Florida. The company said it tried to get approval to fly from Newark, since the majority of Cubans in the New York area live in New Jersey’s Hudson County, but Cuba Travel Services’ request was denied.
The company also offers Cuba charters from Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa.
