The 80-room Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa and
Casino in Willemstad, Curacao, offers special rates and
arrangements for its guests who are seeking medical treatments at
the new Curacao Dialysis Center, also in the capital city.
The center, one of
the first in the Caribbean, opened in January 2006 and offers
treatments to residents and visitors alike.
With a kidney
disease, it can prove difficult to find a place to vacation. People
who require dialysis treatments
often are restricted in their
travels because most require three treatments a week, said Esther
Rooijakers, CDC manager. We wanted anyone who was interested in
visiting Curacao to be able to, regardless of medical
restrictions.
The Center is
housed in a building that is part of and has been restored in the
same style as the adjacent Project Kura Hulanda, an eight-block
complex that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising
the hotel, a museum, a business facility, a spa, restaurants and
shops.
Dialysis treatments
are $400 per treatment, plus a one-time doctors fee of $95. Payment
is required at the time of service.
