Curacao resorts offer perks to honeymooners

The Kura Hulanda Resorts in Curacao are celebrating the passage of the same-sex marriage act in New York state with honeymoon perks for newlyweds who present a valid New York marriage license.

The perks include a room upgrade and a $200 food and beverage voucher when booking a four-night stay through Dec. 22.

"Hotel Kura Hulanda and Lodge Kura Hulanda, progressive members of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association, offer our guests culture, dining and city-life wrapped up in a gay-friendly, high-end community," said Jody DeLeon, director of sales and marketing.

Nightly rates start at $160 per room at Hotel Kura Hulanda in Willemstad and at $140 at Lodge Kura Hulanda on the west end of Curacao.

The $200 food and beverage voucher can be used for dinner for two at Japipur restaurant at the hotel and Watamula restaurant at the lodge.

Newlyweds need not be same-sex couples to take advantage of the promotion.
