The first phase of construction is nearing
completion on Royal Island, a resort and residential community near
Harbour Island and four miles west of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.
Completed are
three guest suites, a fitness facility and a restaurant in an area
called Preview Village. Road construction across the island is
under way and the initial clearing of the golf course site began in
mid-April.
The 430-acre site
will include a five-star, boutique hotel and spa; a 200-slip
marina; restaurants, shops and cafes; customs and immigration;
beach clubs; a Jack Nicklaus-designed 18-hole golf course and golf
club; and luxury private residences.
Construction on
the marina, hotel and golf course will begin late this
year.
Royal Island is
accessible by air via North Eleuthera International Airport or a
10-minute boat ride from Royal Island's private dock house on
Eleuthera.
The developer is
Cypress Equities, based in Dallas. For details, visit www.cypressequities.com.
