The challenge of global tourism is the
theme of the annual Caribbean Hotel Industry Conference (CHIC
2006), set for June 25 to 28 at the Hyatt Regency Miami.
Sessions will
focus on strategic approaches that can be utilized by the Caribbean
hotel sector in response to the global tourism
challenge.
Techniques to
grow market share, convert guest experiences into competitive
advantages and successfully compete in the global marketplace will
be explored in two discussion sessions, co-sponsored by the
Caribbean Hotel Association and the Hospitality Sales &
Marketing Association International.
Stars of the
hospitality workforce will be honored at the annual American
Express Awards lunch while Caribbean cuisine will be celebrated at
the Taste of the Caribbean 2006 regional culinary
competition.
The 2006
Caribbean Hotelier of the Year will be announced at the closing
black-tie gala. In addition, CHA President-Elect Peter Odle from
Barbados will officially assume the CHA reins for the 2006-2008
term as St. Lucias Berthia Parle, current president, steps
down.
