Travel Weekly's Gay Nagle Myers wins two CTO awards

Gay Nagle Myers awardsTravel Weekly’s longtime Caribbean editor, Gay Nagle Myers, received two awards at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Travel Media Awards luncheon held at the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel on June 5 as part of Caribbean Week events in the city.

Hugh Riley, secretary general of the CTO, presented Myers with the Inner Circle Queen Award for the best feature in a trade publication for her Nov. 4 Cover Story, “La verdadera Cuba,” about her visit to the island on a people-to-people program with Insight Cuba.

The story was also honored by the CTO with its Best of the Best award, recognizing it as the best article across all media. The award was presented to Myers by CTO Chairwoman Beverly Nicholson-Doty.

Entries were judged by a panel of public relations and journalism professionals, including head judge Roberta Garzaroli, president of the Atrebor Group public relations and marketing firm.
