As part of a Cabinet reshuffle by Grenada Prime Minister Keith Mitchell, Yolande Bain-Horsford is the country's new minister of tourism.
She has served as a member of Parliament since 2003.
Bain-Horsford replaced Alexandra Otway-Noel, who led the "Pure Grenada" tourism rebranding campaign unveiled earlier this year.
"Alexandra Otway-Noel capably and energetically shaped the campaign that now is attracting more visitors," Mitchell said a national address on Nov. 13.
Grenada's tourism numbers are on the rise, according to Mitchell. Latest statistics revealed a 18.6% jump in stayover visitors in the first half of the year, accompanied by an 11.9% increase in cruise passengers.
Mitchell made the change "to give members of the team different opportunities from time to time."
Otway-Noel will head to the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibilities for policy implementation.
