New initiatives have been announced by Grenada aimed at improving the tourism product and increasing visitor numbers.

The tourism ministry has spearheaded a project to improve the cruise experience. The project is a 50/50 public-private partnership between the Ministry of Tourism/Grenada Tourism Authority and private tourism stakeholders.

The objective is to have more cruise passengers get off the cruise ships, experience Grenada and book tours.

Several airline partners increased seasonal service to Grenada. JetBlue will operate a daily flight from New York JFK June 21-Sept. 4. Additional lift from New York will include two nonstop Caribbean Airlines flights in August. Delta will have two more flights from Atlanta in August.

The destination has launched its #NextStopGrenada campaign that runs through Oct. 31 and offers discounts of up to 50% on hotel rates and includes room upgrades, free massages, complimentary yoga classes and tour discounts.
