Grenada will host the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s annual State of the Industry Conference in 2017, marking the first time that the destination has served as the venue for the event.

Minister of Tourism Clarice Modeste-Curwen announced the news at the conclusion of last week’s 2016 conference in Barbados.

Grenada is one of nine Caribbean destinations that posted increased visitor arrivals from the U.S. for the first half of the year. Numbers of U.S. arrivals totaled close to 24,000, up 26.2% over the same period a year earlier. Total arrivals were up 7.6%, to 74,671.
