Hyatt Hotels recently debuted its Hyatt House brand in Puerto Rico, the first Hyatt House to open outside of the continental U.S.
The 126-room hotel, in the Miramar neighborhood of San Juan, offers studio and one-bedroom suites with full kitchens, living space and bedrooms.
“This has been a remarkable year in Puerto Rico for Hyatt, following the opening of Hyatt Place San Juan/Bayamon last December and the Hyatt Place Manati this past March,” said Federico Stubbe, Jr., president of Prisa Group, the hotels’ developer and owner.
The three properties represent more than $115 million in development costs, according to Stubbe.
“Hyatt House San Juan is another example of our focus on developing and investing in Puerto Rico to attract business, convention and leisure travelers alike.”
The Hyatt House San Juan opening signals the brand’s global expansion, with future openings planned for Mexico, Panama, China, India and Saudi Arabia, according to Chris Walker, vice president of brands for Hyatt Place and Hyatt House.
