La Cabana Beach and Racquet Club on Eagle Beach in Aruba completed a three-year, $36 million room renovation to mark its 20th anniversary this year.
“La Cabana has resurfaced with a bold new look and feel from the front lobby to each room’s interior,” said Willie Mosconi, president of the board of directors.
The new look to the timeshare/hotel resort begins at the arrival porte cochere and continues through to the glass and marble lobby, which now includes an artistic sculpture of water and fire, separate check-in pods and a new elevator to replace the wooden stairs to the mezzanine.
The resort’s original stained-glass mural, safeguarded throughout the lobby reconstruction, now serves as the backdrop for the remodeled lobby.
Four exhibits of local artists will be featured in the lobby over the next 12 months. The first display opened Sept. 20.
“With the completion of this renovation project, La Cabana moves into a rejuvenation of its historical place in Aruba’s tourism industry,” said Joe Najjar, general manager, who oversaw the renovation project from its inception to its conclusion.
The resort offers dining options, live entertainment, a large pool and waterslide, watersports on Eagle Beach, a supervised kids’ day camp, retail shops, and a tapas and grill restaurant.
The resort partnered 20 years ago with Interval International to offer timeshare units, which are placed in the rental pool when not owner-occupied.
“For 20 years, management and staff have been unwavering in their commitment to deliver an exceptional vacation experience to owners and guests alike,” said David Callaghan, Interval’s vice president of resort sales and service.
