Not content with the three-year, $100 million renovation and rebranding of Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort (formerly Jalousie Plantation), the St. Lucia resort now offers several on-site private residences as part of its rental inventory.
Three residences currently are available, although that number will grow, according to management.
The resort, nestled between the island’s signature landmark of the towering twin Pitons, has 59 villas, eight beachfront bungalows and 11 sugar mill rooms spread up the hillside from the beach.
Residence guests have access to all of the resort’s facilities, including the Rainforest Spa with seven treehouse-style treatment cabanas, three restaurants, two bars, a dive center and hiking trails.
Accommodations don’t come cheap, with rates from $2,300 per night (June 1 to Oct. 14) for a two-bedroom residence, but each residence offers the amenities of a luxury private home with a full kitchen, living areas, terraces, a private pool and Viceroy butler service.
Bathrooms have cast iron claw foot tubs and are lit by vintage-style chandeliers.
The resort declined to comment regarding news reports naming it as the site of the vow renewal celebration of actor Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barruso from April 11 to 14.
“Sugar Beach does not share information about past, present or potential future guests,” the resort said.
