What do today’s visitors to the Caribbean like to do when on vacation?

Beyond sun, sand, surf, snorkeling, scuba, shopping and sipping tropical concoctions, travelers are out exploring the islands on excursions, many of which are commissionable to agents.

For a start, Delta Vacations put together a list of its 10 fastest-growing commissionable activities, tours and excursions in the Caribbean. The 10 had double and triple-digit year-over-year growth in 2014, the tour group said.

“Commissionable activities, like these on our list and dozens of others in the Caribbean, represent tremendous opportunity for travel agents to upsell and add additional value to their clients’ bookings,” said John Caldwell, president of MLT Vacations, which manages the Delta Vacations brand.

Delta’s Top 10: an Aruba sightseeing tour; a catamaran day sail in St. Lucia; a Balmoral Island dolphin swim and beach day, Nassau; a rain forest half-day eco-tour, and an Old San Juan and Bacardi Rum Tour, both in San Juan; Bavaro Runners, and a Saona Island basic catamaran, both in Punta Cana, and Mystic Mountain Sky Explorer and Bobsled, a Bob Marley tour, and Martha Brae river rafting, all in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

“Vacationers continue to want more from their travel experiences,” Caldwell said. “Activities like these are a great way for agents to help ensure their clients will create memories that last a lifetime.”
