Beaches Turks & Caicos pulled out all the stops to celebrate its newest addition: Treasure Beach Village.
Following its official opening on March 1, the resort hosted an ultra-exclusive, three-day celebration from May 14 to 16, drawing a glittering crowd of media elite, celebrities and VIPs.
Last month, I touched down in Providenciales to experience Beaches and the brand-new Treasure Beach Village firsthand. While a deep-dive review of the new village is on the way, here's the scoop on the star-studded property launch, plus a sneak peek at the next updates coming to the Beaches and Sandals portfolios.
Celebrating in style
The celebration kicked off in style with a sunset beach party on Grace Bay, complete with custom Beaches-branded coconuts and a spread of local bites. Over the weekend, I embarked on a culinary tour of Treasure Beach Village, dining at Butch's Island Chop House, Pinta Food Hall and Bru's -- three of the village's six brand-new dining concepts.
The energy amplified on night two with a vibrant Caribbean-style block party in the Caribbean Village, packed with a traditional fish fry, live music and a resort parade.
A highlight of the trip was joining the Reading Road Trip, an initiative powered by the Sandals Foundation. I previously saw the foundation's impact firsthand in St. Vincent, where they partner with local NGOs Hand2Earth and Grow in Time's Vetiver Craft Project to help former inmates handcraft sustainable goods from native vetiver grass. I was eager to see how that same influence translates to Turks and Caicos.
For this initiative, we were shuttled to a local primary school to read with a bright group of six- and seven-year-olds as part of an ongoing literacy program. It's just a fraction of their footprint here; the Sandals Foundation's local outreach also spans vital mangrove planting, youth sports mentorship and extensive school renovations.
The celebratory weekend reached its crescendo during the May 16 grand gala, centered around a stunning stage that looked out over Treasure Beach Village's massive infinity pool. The night was a sensory feast, kicking off with a high-energy Junkanoo parade, followed by fire and tightrope acts.
Beaches Resorts executive chairman Adam Stewart also took the stage to deliver remarks on the brand's legacy in Turks and Caicos. The evening culminated in a spectacular fireworks display and a high-octane performance by American Authors, who appropriately opened their set with "Best Day of My Life."
What's ahead for Beaches and Sandals resorts
Amidst the whirlwind of high-profile events and decadent culinary displays, I slipped away to Treasure Beach Village's intimate, 32-seat Starfish Cinema for an exclusive first look at the future of the Sandals and Beaches brands.
Over the weekend, Stewart revealed that the debut of Treasure Beach Village is just the opening act and the first expression of a massive $1 billion investment designed to completely redefine the brand's future.
"Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos represents the next chapter for Beaches, and is part of a broader expansion that includes future resorts in Exuma, Barbados, Jamaica and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines," he said. "It reflects our continued commitment to elevating the Beaches product, investing in the Caribbean and creating even more opportunities for families to spend meaningful time together in this region."
Guests can look forward to the following openings, updates and expansions across both brands:
- Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica, will reopen Dec. 18
- Sandals South Coast (formerly Sandals Whitehouse) in Whitehouse, Jamaica, will return Nov. 18
- Sandals St. Vincent will debut Rondoval Butler Villas Nov. 1
- The Beaches Exuma in the Bahamas is projected to open in 2027
- The Beaches Barbados is scheduled to debut in 2028
- The Beaches Runaway Bay in Jamaica has an anticipated opening date of 2029
Ultimately, the opening of Treasure Beach Village marked a monumental milestone for the beloved Beaches brand, serving as a blueprint for what's to come from one of the most prolific all-inclusive brands in the Caribbean.
