Island Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours' newest outpost is the Turks and Caicos, bringing to five the number of destinations served.

The others are Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua and Great Exuma, the Bahamas. Plans are under way to launch Barbados as a sixth destination later this year.

The company reported sales of more than 150,000 Caribbean tours in its first year of operation, according to Dominique Peterkin, vice president of sales and marketing.

"We have 59 certified partners who are an integral part of our team and have united with us in raising the bar on safety standards, guest satisfaction and a commitment to sustainable tourism for each of our 180 excursions," Peterkin said.

Island Routes has 250 employees, 24 retail locations and 17 operators in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. selling Island Routes' tours.

Peterkin said that more than 2,000 agents have registered with Island Routes to book directly with the company.
