The Jamaica Tourist Board tapped
Donald Donnie Dawson as
interim director of tourism, effective June 1.
Dawson, who
currently serves as deputy director of tourism, sales/USA with more
than 30 years of experience at the JTB, will serve in the position
until a candidate is named to replace Paul Pennicook, currently
director of tourism.
Pennicooks tenure
in that post ends May 31, when he will join Air Jamaica as vice
president, sales and marketing.
Dawson joined the
JTB in 1975 as a sales rep in Kingston, transferred to the JTBs
Florida office in 1977 and was named regional sales manager in
California in 1982 in charge of 13 states.
