Jamaica's high-season visitors (Dec. 15 to April 15) grew 7% over the corresponding period the year before, according to preliminary numbers released by Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett.

Those numbers include a 5.6% jump in stopover visitors and a 9.6% growth in cruise passengers.

The numbers exceeded Jamaica’s original forecast earlier this year of a 4-5% upswing during the winter season.
