For the first time, Jamaica will host a United Nations tourism conference.

The UNWTO Global Conference on Building Partnerships for Sustainable Tourism for Development will be held Nov. 27 to 29.

It also is the first time that the UNWTO will stage a world conference on tourism in the Caribbean or the Americas.

"We look forward to showcasing our destination within the context of sustainability and the building of private-public partnerships," said Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett.
