Jamaica tourism director resigns

Jamaica Director of Tourism Basil Smith will resign his post in October for personal reasons, according to the Jamaica Tourist Board.

Smith succeeded Paul Pennicook as director of tourism in 2006.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett said that Smith had been a key member of the JTB sales force "and ably served as the leader of the JTB team worldwide."

Smith's replacement has not been named.
