Jewel Runaway Bay Beach & Golf Resort in Runaway Bay on Jamaica's north coast will open its own 9,000-square-foot beachfront water park in December.
The park will include water slides, family raft rides, a lazy river, private cabanas, waterfall coves, an expansive sun deck, a raised entertainment stage for live music, a dining plaza and bar, private locker rooms with showers, first aid offices and observation and lifeguard stations.
"True to our mission of delivering on the guest experience, we are very excited to be able to offer this water park to our guests. There are very few places in the Caribbean where a water park of this stature is situated overlooking the Caribbean Sea. It will be just steps from the beach," said Rich Cortese, senior vice president, Caribbean operations and development for Dallas-based Aimbridge Hospitality, which manages the three Jewel resorts in Jamaica.
