Kennedy to serve as keynoter at CHA's CHIC

SAN JUAN -- Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will deliver the keynote address June 26 at the Caribbean Hotel Associations upcoming Caribbean Hotel Industry Conference (CHIC).

CHIC is set for June 26 to 29 at the Hyatt Regency Miami, the first time the event will be held outside the Caribbean region.

In his keynote speech, Kennedy is expected to challenge Caribbean hoteliers about the importance and impact of setting and implementing sound environmental policies and procedures.

CHA is raising the bar for Caribbean hospitality at this conference, said Berthia Parle, president. Kennedy will set the stage by calling attention to the importance of the sustainability of our Caribbean tourism product.

Kennedy has worked on environmental issues across the Americas; has assisted indigenous tribes in Latin America and Canada in negotiating treaties to protect their homelands; and is credited with leading the fight to protect New York Citys water supply.

Meanwhile, other CHIC events include sessions covering Caribbean aviation, hotel branding, hospitality techniques, profitable menu ideas and inventory distribution.
