The Moon Palace Jamaica Grande, scheduled to open in Ocho Rios on Feb. 1, will have a "gourmet food corridor for guests who want a quick snack rather than a restaurant meal," according to Sandor Winkler, Palace Resorts' chief development officer.
The corridor will offer ice cream, sushi, Jamaican patties and pizza. The concept is new for Palace Resorts.
The all-inclusive resort of more than 700 rooms also will have six bars, five restaurants, a FlowRider surf machine similar to the one at the Moon Palace in Cancun, a disco, an arcade and a 30,000-square-foot spa.
The Moon Palace Jamaica Grande is on the site of the former Sunset Jamaica Grande.
"All told, from acquisition to opening, the total investment in this resort will top $150 million," Winkler said.
The resort will "embrace Jamaican culture and offer larger-than-life experiences for our guests," he said.
