The British Virgin Islands has new leadership in the tourism sector with the recent election of Andrew Fahie as premier and minister of tourism.

Shereen Flax-Charles was elected territorial at-large representative and junior minister for tourism.

Sharon Flax-Brutus, current director of tourism, remains in that post.

The election in late February brought a new party into government, unseating Orlando Smith, former premier.

Fahie has served in the House of Assembly for 20 years. Flax-Charles worked at the BVI Tourist Board for 20 years.
