Splash Island Water Park, the Caribbean's first open-water sports park, is set to open in August in front of the Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa on Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay Village on St. Lucia's northwest coast.

Splash Island is an inflatable, modular water park manufactured by Wibit Sports, a German company that has produced more than 200 commercial water parks in 60 countries.

The floating playground will include a trampoline, climbing wall, monkey bars, a swing, a slide, hurdles and water volleyball. The park will be open daily and staffed by a team of certified lifeguards.

All users of the park must be six years of age and older and will be required to wear life vests.

Tickets start at $10 for an hourly pass up to $50 for a full-day, nine-hour pass.

A half-day pass (4.5 hours) with lunch and drink is $50; a full-day pass with lunch, snack, two drinks and the use of a beach chair is $80.
