Vacation Express, part of Sunwing Travel Group, has partnered with Mexican airline Interjet to offer weekly all-inclusive vacation packages to resort destinations in Mexico.

The formal partnership comes on the heels of the first winter season for the two entities working together. Interjet offered weekly charter flights from Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio; Nashville, Newark and Pittsburgh.

"This was our first year working with Interjet," said Kevin Hernandez, vice president of sales and digital strategy for Vacation Express. "Passengers loved the extra leg room, free snacks, two free checked bags, a ladies-only restroom and the state-of-the-art aircraft."

The two newest gateways for Interjet departures are Richmond, Va., and Charlotte, N.C. Departures from Raleigh, N.C.,  begin June 14 for seasonal flights, which continue through the fall.

Additional gateways are planned for 2016, although details are not yet available.
