Silversea Cruises will begin offering high-end land tours as
a pre- and post-cruise option, starting in 2018.
The line's "Couture Collection" will feature private
helicopter service in Mongolia, vintage rail in India, and Gulfstream jets in
and out of Antarctica. Prices average $34,000 per guest for each five‐
adventure, with the 11‐day South Pole itinerary starting at $78,000 per guest.
The first offering, departing Jan. 2, is the "White
Desert & South Pole" excursion that offers flights in and out of
Antarctica on a Gulfstream business jet and a stay at Whichaway Camp. It can be
combined with Silver Spirit's Dec. 18 voyage to Antarctica, Silversea.
Another excursion in the collection is the $45,199 "Revealing
the Legends of Fire and Ice," a five-day trip in Iceland that includes
kayaking, mountain biking, lunch atop a glacier-capped volcano and passage
through a man-made ice tunnel, as well as a stay at Deplar, a sheep farm turned

expeditions departing July 27 or Aug. 8.
The least expensive of nine selections in the collection,
the six-day "Namibia & Rovos Rail," includes a stay at the Little
Kulala Camp in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve, a flight-seeing excursion, a hot-air
balloon trip and a journey from Pretoria to Cape Town via the luxury Rovos Rail.
Departures are listed for Jan. 8 or March 14 at $11,299, with connections to
the Silver Spirit's Jan. 15 cruise or the Silver Cloud's March 21 trip.
