The 2,974-passenger Carnival Conquest will reposition from New Orleans to Miami in November 2013 to operate seven-day Caribbean sailings year-round.

The ship is the next in line to receive Fun Ship 2.0 enhancements that will add several dining, lounge and entertainment options.

The line earlier announced that the 2,642-passenger Carnival Destiny would be deployed to New Orleans in spring 2013, following a major refit. The ship will be renamed the Carnival Sunshine.

In Miami, the Carnival Conquest will depart every Sunday, operating two Caribbean itineraries beginning Nov. 24, 2013. Eastern Caribbean cruises will call at Nassau, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk, while the western route will feature Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize and Mahogany Bay, Honduras.

The Conquest’s drydock will take place Oct. 14 to 28, 2012.

The ship will continue its schedule from New Orleans through Nov. 9, 2013, before repositioning to Miami.

With the Carnival Conquest, Carnival will have five ships based year-round in Miami, as well as one operating on a seasonal basis.
