Carnival Corp. named former federal prosecutor Peter Anderson
to the newly created position of chief ethics and compliance officer.

Peter Anderson
Based at the company's headquarters in Miami, Anderson will
be a member of the executive leadership team and report directly to Carnival
Corp. president and CEO Arnold Donald.
The creation of the role was part of a legal settlement
Carnival Corp. made to avoid probation violation charges in a 2016 criminal
pollution sentence for Princess Cruises.
"Pete's knowledge of global environmental law and
corporate compliance makes him a valued addition to our leadership team,"
Donald said.
Anderson most recently was head of the White Collar and
Compliance Group at the law firm of Beveridge & Diamond. In that role, he
was engaged by Carnival Corp. to conduct a compliance program assessment.
Anderson also led the environmental compliance team on the Volkswagen monitoring
over the past two years, Carnival said.
Anderson will direct Carnival's compliance strategy, develop
training for Carnival's 120,000 employees, and head Operation Oceans Alive,
Carnival's environmental commitment and stewardship program.
After graduating law school, Anderson clerked for a federal
district judge in Charlotte, N.C., before joining the honors program at the Environmental
Crimes Section at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He later
became an assistant U.S. attorney in Charlotte.
