MIAMI BEACH -- Expedia Group received the Ted Arison Founder's Award at a recognition ceremony for travel agents held by Carnival Corp.'s North American brands.

The second annual World's Leading Cruise Lines Excellence Awards were handed out Aug. 20 at a chic South Beach events venue. In all, 35 awards were presented to two dozen winners.

Each of Carnival's five brands presented a founder's award. The Princess Cruises Stanley McDonald Founder's Award went to AAA Travel and CAA Travel, while the Seabourn Warren Titus Award was bestowed on Valerie Wilson Travel Inc.

Holland America Line's Chairman's Award went to Expedia CruiseShipCenters, while Cunard Line's Samuel Cunard Founder's Award went to Vacations To Go.

Among those on hand to present the awards were Carnival Corp. CEO Arnold Donald, Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy, and sales vice presidents or directors for each of the five brands.

The evening event was held at Temple House, a former synagogue nestled in a South Beach neighborhood that has been transformed into a unique event space for private, corporate, and social events. Charlie Sylvia, CLIA's vice president of membership and trade relations, served as emcee.
