Six percent of respondents to a Cruise Critic poll said they
had canceled a cruise because they were concerned about contracting the Zika
virus.
Another 3% said they would take the cruise but cancel shore
excursions as a precaution.
The remaining 91% said their plans to cruise have not been
changed by Zika.
The online survey found exactly 50% agreeing to the
statement, “Not really. I’ll take extra precautions, but I’m still cruising.” And
41% said they were not worried at all.
More than 1,700 users responded to the non-scientific poll,
which ran on the Cruise Critic home page Aug. 3-10.
