Cruise West purchases Star ship

SEATTLE -- Cruise West acquired Star Cruises' 114-passenger MegaStar Sagittarius, formerly Renaissance Cruises' Renaissance V, and will take delivery of the ship in April 2001. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Cruise West will rename the vessel Spirit of Oceanus, and operate the ship in Alaska, British Columbia and Mexico, said Dick West, chairman and chief executive officer. Spirit of Oceanus becomes the largest ship in the eight-ship Cruise West fleet and will fly the Bahamaian flag, making it Cruise West's only non-U.S.-flagged ship.
