CruiseOne, the franchise network owned by World Travel Holdings, has entered into a master franchise relationship with U.K.-based Cruise118.
Cruise118 plans to grow the business, aiming to achieve 10 franchise sales by the end of 2011 and 20 by the end of 2012, said CruiseOne.
WorldTravel Holdings purchased a stake in Cruise118 last year.
“Over the past 20 years, CruiseOne has become a powerhouse in the United States and really emerged as an innovative front-runner when it comes to the travel agency model,” said Dwain Wall, senior vice president and general manager of CruiseOne. “We believe there is an opportunity to continue growing our business domestically while at the same time, forging strategic partnerships that make sense in key international markets.”
James Cole, director of Cruise118, said he expects that the CruiseOne business model “will translate well” to the U.K. marketplace.
“We are excited to offer a solution to those who are passionate about starting their own business and have an interest in travel. This is a business model we are committed to and look forward to growing with the right people,” he said.
CruiseOne is not the first U.S.-based franchise network to look outside domestic borders for growth.
Cruise Holidays earlier this year entered into an agreement with U.K.-based Global Cruising to expand its operations using the Cruise Holidays brand name, programs and services. Global Cruising has 30 franchises.
