CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. agents are headed to Disney next year.
The sister companies will hold a combination land-and-sea conference in 2012, officials announced as the 2011 conference sessions came to a close on Oct. 15.
Next year’s weeklong event will be split between Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando and Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream, sailing from Port Canaveral.
The conference will be held Oct. 14 to 21, with the first four days at the Disney World resort and then three days on the ship.
Dwain Wall, senior vice president and general manager, had noted earlier in the conference that land bookings by both CruiseOne franchisees and Cruises Inc. retailers are growing, and in 2012 will represent 10% to 12% of revenue. The companies added land products in 2009.
Wall said he expects a record number of CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. agents to attend the Disney conference next year.
Just over 700 attended this year’s event, which was held aboard Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas from Oct. 9 to 16. In 2012, he said, he’s expecting at least 1,000 to participate.
