First Choice joins management of small ship lines

First Choice Holidays, parent of Intrav and Clipper Cruise Line, has formed First Choice Expedition Cruising, bringing the two vessels of Clipper Cruise Line and the two small ships operated by the First Choice Holidays-owned Australian travel company Peregrine together under the same management.

A statement released by Intrav said that First Choice has taken the opportunity to bring the best of both companies together [by] creating a very strong foundation for what will become worlds leading small-ship expeditionary cruise line.

Clipper Cruise Line will maintain independent operations of its two vessels, the 122-passenger Clipper Adventurer and 128-passenger Clipper Odyssey, through October 31, the company said.

Being a member of the First Choice Holidays family of companies has shown yet another advantage -- the Clipper philosophy brought to a global scale, said David Drier, Intravs President, in the statement. The small-ship expertise of both Clipper and Peregrine, joined with strength and vision of First Choice makes the future of this enterprise very encouraging.
