The Carnival Magic now has a Guy Fieri barbecue restaurant, Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse. The open-air restaurant and its wood-fired smoker were installed on the Promenade Deck during a recent ship renovation.
The fare at Guy's Pig & Anchor is available free of charge. The restaurant serves smoked and pulled pork shoulder; smoked andouille sausage; smoked and sliced round of beef; and dry-rubbed grilled chicken. Traditional sides are available, too, such as baked beans, collard greens, cole slaw, potato salad and mac 'n' cheese, plus a variety of barbecue and hot sauces.
The barbecue joint is open on sea days from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Carnival and restaurateur/Food Network celebrity Guy Fieri have been partners since 2011. His Guy's Burger Joint restaurant is on 11 Carnival ships. Each restaurant serves 1,000 burgers per day, Carnival said.
“Guy has been a wonderful partner, and we can’t wait for our guests to enjoy all the incredible offerings at his Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse, which we’re sure will be a huge hit with Carnival Magic guests,” Carnival President Christine Duffy said in a statement.
Other new spaces on the Carnival Magic include two poolside bars (the RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar), the BlueIguana Cantina serving tacos and burritos, Pizzeria del Capitano, the pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bar, and the Cherry on Top candy store.
Carnival Magic will continue its seven-day schedule from Galveston through April 10, then reposition to Port Canaveral to launch seven-day Caribbean cruises on April 23.
