Holland America Line in 2012 will increase its guest capacity in Alaska by about 6%, and offer 130 departures between May 2 and Sept. 23.

The line will feature four itineraries, ranging from seven to 14 days, on seven of its midsized ships.

Cruises will be available roundtrip from Seattle and Vancouver, and also between Vancouver and Seward, Alaska.

"Alaska itineraries continue to be among the most popular cruises Holland America Line offers, and our increased capacity means more guests will have the opportunity to explore a region that has so much to offer culturally, historically and experientially," said Richard Meadows, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs.

The Oosterdam, Amsterdam and Westerdam will sail seven-day Alaskan Explorer voyages roundtrip from Seattle. The Amsterdam also will operate 14-day Alaskan Explorer voyages roundtrip from Seattle.

The Volendam, Zuiderdam and Zaandam will sail roundtrip from Vancouver on a series of seven-day Inside Passage voyages.

The Statendam and Zaandam will operate seven-day Glacier Discovery voyages, including the Gulf of Alaska, between Vancouver and Seward.

Holland America Line will offer some 250 Alaska shore excursions.
