Michael Ungerer will become CEO of MSC Cruises' yet-unnamed
luxury brand, which it plans to launch in 2023.

A 30-year veteran in cruising and luxury hospitality, Ungerer's resume includes a stint from
2012 to 2015 as president of Carnival Corp.'s German brand Aida Cruises. In 2015 he was named COO of shared
services at Carnival Asia, based in Shanghai.
Ungerer, 53, is an Austrian citizen. He will report to MSC executive chairman Pierfrancesco Vago.
Earlier this year, MSC confirmed a $2.3 billion order for
four luxury cruise ships to be built by Fincantieri, with the first to be
delivered by spring 2023. The remaining three are planned to come into service
one per year over the following three years through 2026.
