MSC Cruises said its MSC Grandiosa ship will have a multi-media art experience built around the drawings and engravings of French impressionist Edgar Degas.

MSC described the show as an "immersive art and dining experience."

Called "Degas Danse Dessin," it borrows its title from a 1937 art book published by French poet Paul Valery. It was also the title of a Musee d'Orsay exhibition in 2017 on the 100th anniversary of Degas' death.

MSC said the Danse Dessin series presents 26 studies of movement and dance and was previously exhibited in "major international galleries and museums."

The show is a collaboration between MSC Cruises and THE AIMES, "experts in creating multi-sensory, interactive experiences, employing innovative technology to engage people with art and culture," an MSC announcement said.

The MSC Grandiosa will become MSC's new flagship when delivered in November.
